"On certain Sundays, Gabe Kling and Zander Morton set their alarm for a different type of dawn patrol -- the die-hard Jacksonville Jaguars fans head to Breaker's bar at 7am to watch football." - from Surfline.com's north shore coverage

HAWAII UPDATE #2 BY ZANDER MORTON
Hawaii is a funny place. It’s the only surf destination in the world where the best waves of your life are right there in front of you yet completely out of reach. Normally, you pray for light offshore winds, sun, and solid 6-8 foot swell. On the North Shore in November/December, those days can be torturous. It’s the equivalent of an endless Gisele Bundchen strip tease. For normal folk like me, forget about it. Only Kelly Slater gets both.

Fortunately, the less perfect days are still much more fun that anything in FL, so I won’t complain. Yesterday was the first down day of my month stay, and I took the time to have a few surfs and watch my frustrating Jaguars lose once again. Gabe and I were joined at the bar by a few of our other north shore jag supporters, and we all talked each other off the ledge after our damn team gave up a 14-3 halftime lead and completely blew it. Oh well, you can’t win em all. Problem with this season is we simply can’t win any. Hopefully the surf stays less than perfect so I can go catch a few waves!
